About the Event
Dear Friends and Art supporters,
KRUG Art Gallery proudly presents Kasia Kociuba practicing professional artist of Chicago, IL
Kasia studied both fine art and architecture at Rhode Island School of Design. She paints to explore notions of belonging and individual strength. Her paintings use color to define space and to convey energy; this energy belongs to the past but also transcends the present and future. In this continuum, form turns to water: instant, transformative and charged. Her sculptural studies explored design opportunities in the connection between natural and human-made spaces. Kasia's work continues to cross the disciplines of fine art and architecture, creating environments where both the built and the expressive are one. Kasia Kociuba has locally exhibited her work as part of the Pilsen 2nd Fridays Gallery Night.
Mindscape Landscapes
This collection of work is the artist's deeply personal response to emotions. With a series of painted abstractions depicting energy, the viewer enters a space full of richness in color, texture and weight. The work strives to capture the ephemeral nature of perception. The artists believes that discovering new imagery can aid in processing new emotions. Our emotions are instantaneous and often not controllable through conscious thought, and yet they still make us who we are. By re-envisioning the rich landscape of the human mind, the artist's work provides us with continuity; the abstractions create space for mapping of thoughts. By exciting the imagination, the paintings become a space to meditate.
Please join us for an Opening Reception on July 21st from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.
You will meet the Artist, experience her deeply emotional work and spend a wonderful evening surrounded by art, music friends and pleasant atmosphere.
