About the Event

Zarui Vardanean is an Honored Artist of the Republic of Moldova, the National and International Contests prize winner.

She took her Master of Fine Arts in Music degree from the Academy of Music Republic of Moldova and her BBA from the Institute of the Continuing Education Republic of Moldova.

She started her career at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Moldova as an opera soloist and a voice instructor at the Academy of the Music Republic of Moldova.

She is well-known to audiences in the UK, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Germany etc. and her native country Rep. of Moldova. She made an auspicious debut at the

National Opera and Ballet Theatre Republic of Moldova in 1998 when she appeared as Ulrica.

After that, she sang about twenty-three leading roles including Carmen, Amneris, Azucena, Adalgisa, Lyubasha, Olga, Pauline, etc.

Zarui Vardanean is a welcome guest artist in the leading opera houses in Europe.

She participated at the National and International Festivals. She has about hundreds of recordings at the National Radio and TV broadcast.

In 2013 she immigrated to the USA and opened her Voice Studio for young singers, where she can share her experience and knowledge with pleasure, also she continues her opera career in Europe.

Dmitry Lovtsov (lyric baritone)

He was born in Polotsk in a classical Soviet intellectual family: his father is an engineer, his mother is a teacher.

Musical education began with early childhood.

7 years of learning to play the violin instilled zeal and musical taste.

Then the Musical College. Sollertinsky in Vitebsk in the class of "choral conducting"

After the 1st course, he was drafted into the army, where he won the last vocal contest of soldiers' songs in the USSR. This largely determined the choice of the profession and on his return continued his studies already at the department of classical vocal.

Later he graduated from the Academy of Music.

He is a representative of the classical Belcanto vocal school.

For 5 years he was a soloist of the regional philharmonic society in Vitebsk

In the early 2000s he repatriated to Israel, where he is currently

soloist of the Tel Aviv Israeli opera and the Jerusalem opera "אטרנה" (Eterna).

He is the winner of the 1st international romance contest in Israel.

In 2014 Participant and diploma of the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk (Belarus)

He takes part not only in opera projects, but also in musicals, as well as in concerts with arias from operettas, romances, songs. In the concert repertoire, a great place is occupied by songs performed by famous Soviet baritones: M. Magomaev, V. Mulerman, L. Leshchenko, S. Zakharov, D. Gnatyuk, Yu Gulyaev and others.

He actively tours in Israel, USA and Europe.

Anna Kovalevskaya began her piano studies when she was five years old in her home country, Ukraine.

She came to the US in 2010 after receiving a full graduate assistantship in accompanying to obtain her Artist Diploma at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) under the direction of David Allen Wehr and Yeeha Chiu. After graduating, she was invited to join Duquesne University, as a staff pianist.

While living in Pittsburgh, Anna was an active opera pianist, collaborative pianist and an organist at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Both as a piano soloist and in piano duet/duo with Yuting Zhou, Anna has won several prizes in numerous national and international piano competitions in Europe and the US.

Prior to her arrival in Pittsburgh, Anna received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Piano Performance on full scholarships from the National University in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2009, she was awarded a stipend from "The Ukraine President's Fund" for her musical talents.

Anna moved to Chicago in the fall of 2017 and now serves as an organist/pianist at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, as a piano teacher in Mattix Music Studio and starting in the fall as a Collaborative Pianist at DePaul University.
